The Music and Worship Committee would like to extend an invitation to anyone in the congregation, who would be interested in joining this committee.  We welcome anyone with an interest in our worship’s content, flow, and music to come out and join us.  If you have an interest and would like further details, please see Pastor Greg, Doris Loux or Cindy Linse.  Thank you.

Church Growth Committee News:

A. Our Church Growth Committee is growing, having added two new members who are both also new to our church—Becca Beidleman and Sandy Harrell.  We are working with a consultant, James Latimer, to come up with new ideas, with new connections within our community, and with new events that will help us to grow, not only numerically, but in service to our community and in enthusiasm for our God in Christ!  We can jointly say Amen to that!

B. There is now a place on the Prayer Request forms to designate your relationship to the named person needing prayers. Since Christianity is all about relationships, we feel this information is important to the persons offering the prayers. This is a powerful arm of Trinity’s strength. Did you know Pastor Greg sends each named person a signed letter telling them of your request and the lifted prayer at Trinity’s worship service? Pastor Greg cannot, however, send his letter unless you have the exact address of the person listed on your prayer request.

Loaves and Fishes Is Back!

Loaves and Fishes is starting up again.  During the five Wednesdays between Ash Wednesday and Holy week (Feb 29th through March 28th) we will meet for lunch at noon.  Joe Detwiler will bring the sandwiches from Subway, Pat Lee, Peg Hauck and Lucy Detwiler will be setting up, and the dessert cookies will be rotated.  Each week, Pastor Greg will share a 15 minute message based on the book, The Last Week: What the Gospels Really Teach about Jesus’ Final Days in Jerusalem by Marcus Borg and John Dominic Crossan.  So, the story of the last week will be unfolded progressively during the Lenten season.  After Lent, the group will continue.  They will meet once per month, eat lunch, and listen to invited speakers who are now in the process of being contacted.

Here's a story from the UCC website about a young woman who was feeling overwhelmed by all the depressing economic news of late.  She offers some practical and useful tips for avoiding burnout.  Interesting read.  Pastor Greg (Added Sept 2, 2011)

Trinity was really “shakin” the week of July 25 as it hosted the Shake It Up Café Vacation Bible School in conjunction with St. Paul’s Lutheran and Grace Methodist Churches. Click HERE to see the pictures.
